Meet the Engineers Without Borders USA USC Chapter!

Who are we?

We're the USC chapter of the larger Engineers Without Borders USA organization, a non-profit that works directly with underserved communities around the globe to improve their quality of life. We (and the EWB-USA organization at large) believe in empowering communities by implementing engineering solutions to enhance their quality of life, while adhering to their respective cultures.

What do we do?

At USC, we currently have two ongoing projects, one domestic and one international. Our domestic project is focused on designing a K-12 school for students with special needs, which will be located in San Bernardino, CA. For this project, we have partnered with the Community Engineering Corps, an organization that works with underserved communities to provide local infrastructure. Our international project is focused on developing a sustainable water source for members of the Yannani community in Bolivia. Our partner for this project is Engineers in Action, a non-profit that addresses the health and sanitation of vulnerable communities in Latin America.

Due to the pandemic, we won't be able to do actual site visits until it is safe to do so; however, despite the pandemic, our project teams are still meeting weekly via Zoom to work on determining the needs of the communities we're serving and to design sustainable solutions to the problems we're addressing.

How do I get involved?
